Some sewing projects for you!

Thanks to Pinterest and our discovery of GoodWill 50% off Saturdays, I got hooked on sewing cute, easy dresses and such for you this fall!  Of course, since I had to sew everything by hand, it took a while.  But I learned some things along the way, and I hope to keep making cute, unique clothes for you as you grow up!

This was the first dress I made you--I used a tee shirt from Walmart and an old skirt of mine that was just a tad too short for me.  I LOVE it...especially the button flower!  Unfortunately, I didn't think about putting in a zipper...but you wiggle into it just fine for now.  :)

This was your Halloween costume--a rockstar queen bee!  I cut up an old tee shirt, paired it with a yellow undershirt and black pleated cheer-type skirt, and adorned it all with a yellow feather boa.  A tiara with pipe cleaner/pom pom antennae and a fabric-covered set of fairy wings completed the ensemble!
I made two other tee-shirt dresses, using some old babydoll shirts of mine as the skirts.  They're a little short, but with tights they look awfully cute...like a little cocktail party dress!  And I learned...I put elastic in the waistline for both of these.  You like them a lot!

Lastly, I found this at Good Will--it's a tee shirt/dress for older women, but with the shoulders/neckline taken in a bit and a cute felt belt I braided for you, it's a comfy Sunday dress all the same!

Ever since you were little you have LOVED clothes.  You would get more excited about them than toys, even at 1 or 2 years old, and would rush to put on a fashion show.  It makes me happy to contribute to your wardrobe...hopefully as you get older I can teach you how to use a sewing machine, and maybe you can learn to make your own clothes...maybe you're destined to be a fashion designer?  Either way, you'll be well-dressed...as anyone as cute as you ought to be!  :)

Sure love you!
