Caida,
I'm a worrier. Hopefully by the time you can read and understand all of these letters I will have learned to mellow out a bit, but for now I'm a worrier to the MAX.
You're scheduled for VNS surgery on Monday morning (May 21st, 9 AM) at Riley Hospital. The surgeon is VERY optimistic that this surgery will succeed, if not at first then after they figure out the timing of the VNS impulses later on. I'm fasting and praying for you like crazy, and Paul will come over tomorrow night and give you a priesthood blessing, but my nerves refuse to be calmed.
Thankfully, you're just excited to "smell watermelon and then go to sleep," and when you wake up you get to "eat ice cream any time" you want and watch TV on "A GIANT screen!" (These are all your actual quotes--you LOVE hospitals already, but the new family wing at Riley is extra fancy-schmancy and you couldn't be more thrilled.) And, just in case the unthinkable happens, your mom is letting you eat and do pretty much ANYTHING you want this weekend, which you think is pretty awesome.
PLEASE BE OKAY. I love you.
Aunt Celeste
